Tasting notes:
Murua’s French oak barrique “SELECTION” is characterized by delicacy, respect for the fruit and flavor balance bringing volume to the palate and structure.
Aromatic descriptors are closely related to the degree and type of toasting performed. With light roasting, specially designed for white wines, balsamic and mineral notes are brought in. Medium roasting brings typical aromas of clove, pepper and coffee while with medium+ roasting hints of coffee and cocoa appear in addition to spicy aromas.
Slow and deep toasting. Through strict control of time and temperature, we make the barrel according to the characteristics of the wine to be aged. The different types of toasting generate unique profiles that will characterize the wines.
Special Toast Whites: Whites that need a gentle contribution of wood.
Medium Toast: Bringing aromatic richness while respecting terroir and varietal character.
Medium+ Toast: Bringing sweetness, volume and roundness, particularly for fine wines and long aging processes.
Traceability: Each barrel has a unique identification code.
Analysis: regular checks of chloranisoles and chlorophenols available to the customer.
Tightness: verified on all barrels.
Finish: high quality handmade.
