Toneleria Murua (La Rioja- Spain) barrels are made from French oak and American oak, with traceability to origin.
The long drying of the wood on the banks of the Ebro River ensures that the barrel is respectful of the primary aromas of the grapes. And the special process of immersion in hot water eliminates astringency and facilitates the penetration of toast into the wood.
Traditional, long toasting over oak fires and rigorous final control of the tightness of the barrels are essential to making high-quality, ISO 9000- and ISO 14000-certified barrels.
Murua barrels are custom-made according to the specific characteristics required by each winemaker internationally depending on the grape variety, year or type of wine.
