The LightOak alternative woods of the Fuoco line are produced through a specific process that replicates the traditional fire toasting of barrels using the brazier technique. Direct fire toasting of the staves allows a gradual penetration of heat to the heart of the wood. Through this particular process, the wood retains its richness in polyphenols and polysaccharides and allows the wine to express greater sensory complexity and a well-integrated woodiness. Following the toasting phase, the staves are processed to give rise to the following types of products: staves (staves), battens (barrel inserts), bars and chips.
